Sea Life Benalmádena is the place to go over the next few weeks if your kids are fans of hit TV show SpongeBob SquarePants!
To celebrate the worldwide premier of the new SpongeBob movie: Sponge Out of Water, Sea Life Benalmádena has been chosen as the only aquarium in Spain to take part in the official launch of the film.
Between the 23rd January and the 24th February 2015, visitors to the aquarium can take part in SpongeBob’s special SpongeHunt. The staff at Sea Life have been busy redecorating the aquarium tanks with all the movie’s characters and there will be special screenings of the film’s official trailer. (more…)

Benalmadena is getting ready to host one of the most important cultural events of its yearly calendar: Flamenco Week. Playing a key role in the promotion of the town’s Flamenco culture, the event has become one of the main tributes to this universal art in the province of Malaga.
Flamenco Week takes place from the 14th to 21st November in various different cultural and educational centres of Benalmadena. Organised by Malaga’s ‘Peña La Repompa’ in collaboration with Benalmadena Council’s Cultural Department, the main aim of the event is to pay tribute to the art of Flamenco, coinciding with the celebration, on the 16th November, of the anniversary of Flamenco being declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The Mayor of Benalmádena, Paloma García Gálvez, has recently returned from a visit to the World Travel Market in London where she pointed out the strength of our town as a tourist destination, especially in international markets.
The figures don’t lie and Benalmadena can proudly boast a notable increase in the number of foreign visitors who choose its fabulous attractions for their holidays. The year-to-date figures (January to September) show that almost 51,000 more foreign travellers visited the town than in the same period last year; an increase of almost 24 %. It’s worth pointing out that more than 40% of these foreign visitors who travel to Benalmadena every year are British. (more…)

This relatively new social network – which allows you to take fabulous photos, apply cool filters and effects and share them with your network – is growing at an amazing rate; it now boasts over 200 million active users worldwide!

Paloma Park in Benalmádena has recently received an important award from Tripadvisor, the world’s nº1 travel review site. We’re delighted and proud to announce that our beautiful park located in the centre of the town is now included in Tripadvisor’s 25 Top Parks in Europe (nº24), a great bit of news to start off the busy summer season. 🙂
Tripadvisor is recognised as one the world’s most influential travel sites. In this second edition of its ‘Travellers’ Choice Attractions Awards’– which honors top landmarks and parks throughout Europe – the travellers who leave reviews on Tripadvisor have decided that this 200.000 square metre park is worthy of a place in the Top 25 list and thereby become one of the most recommended parks on the continent! Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Costa are getting ready to celebrate the 7th edition of their annual Tapas Route (Ruta de la Tapa), a gastronomic event which helps promote the town’s culinary culture as well as its establishments.
The route takes place from the 29th May to the 8th June and will have 40 participating bars and restaurants offering mouth-watering tapas for just 2.5€, drink included! (more…)
